Chatswood Chamber of Commerce at Support Local Showcase Night

Wednesday, 9 September 2026

Chatswood Chamber of Commerce was honoured to be invited by Willoughby City Council to participate in its highly successful Support Local Showcase Night, an inspiring evening dedicated to celebrating local businesses, sharing valuable insights and strengthening connections across our business community.

The event welcomed more than 250 business owners, entrepreneurs, community leaders and business support partners. It was wonderful to see so many people come together with a shared commitment to supporting local enterprise and contributing to a stronger, more connected and thriving local economy.

The Chamber was proudly represented by President Jam Xia, Vice Presidents Courtney Owings and Carol Chen, and Board Directors Dr William Yiu, Claire Williams and Kelly Yeung. Throughout the evening, our Board Directors had the opportunity to meet and speak with many local business owners, introduce the Chamber’s values and purpose, and share information about our upcoming events, networking opportunities and ongoing initiatives.

These meaningful conversations allowed us to better understand the experiences, ambitions and challenges of businesses operating throughout Chatswood and the wider Willoughby area. Many attendees expressed a strong interest in becoming involved in the Chamber’s activities and continuing to build relationships with us. We look forward to welcoming them into our growing network and exploring how we can work together to support business growth, encourage collaboration and strengthen our local business community.

The evening’s program featured an insightful keynote speech delivered by our member Philosophy Australia, providing attendees with valuable perspectives and ideas to support their professional and business journeys.

We were also delighted to invite our Chamber members to join us for this special occasion. It was also a particular pleasure to see our member Bistro Kai selected as one of the featured speakers on stage. Their team shared their business journey, experiences and insights with the audience, offering a genuine and inspiring example of the passion, resilience and entrepreneurial spirit found within our local community. Congratulations to Philosophy Australia and Bistro Kai on this wonderful opportunity to showcase their story and represent our local business sector.

The evening was also a valuable opportunity for attendees to hear from Council, industry representatives and local business owners while learning more about the programs, resources and partnerships available to support them. The positive energy throughout the venue reflected the enthusiasm of our business community and its willingness to connect, exchange ideas and support one another.

Chatswood Chamber of Commerce sincerely thanks Willoughby City Council for bringing together such a successful and engaging event and for its ongoing commitment to supporting local businesses. We also extend our appreciation to all participating organisations, roaming business partners, speakers and attendees whose involvement made the evening so memorable.

Building strong relationships between businesses, Council and the wider community remains central to the Chamber’s purpose. We are proud to provide a platform where local businesses can connect, be represented, share their stories and discover new opportunities.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with Council and working alongside our members and the broader business community to make Chatswood and Willoughby an even more vibrant place to live, work, visit and do business.
