It is wonderful to see local businesses receiving strong recognition in this year’s North Shore Local Business Awards, with an impressive 87 finalists from across the Willoughby local government area, representing businesses in 11 suburbs. This includes 37 finalists from Chatswood, 13 from Artarmon and 12 from Willoughby.
The awards, to be held on 28 July, celebrate the innovation, dedication and contribution of the businesses that help make our city a vibrant place to live, work and visit.
Council continues to invest in practical initiatives that help local businesses connect, innovate and grow. Recent programs have included the Start Smart business workshop and the Chatswood AI Hackathon, which brought together entrepreneurs, innovators and industry professionals to explore emerging technologies and new opportunities.
Our Local Centres Support and Activation Program is also continuing to bring energy and activity to neighbourhood centres across the city. Recent activations in Artarmon, Castlecrag, Naremburn, Northbridge and Castle Cove have featured live music, family-friendly entertainment and community events that encourage residents to visit, shop locally and discover everything these centres have to offer.
Strong local businesses create more than economic prosperity. They help build welcoming, connected communities and give each of our neighbourhoods its own unique character and identity. Council is proud to support initiatives that help them thrive.
Congratulations to all finalists in this year’s North Shore Local Business Awards. Thank you to the many business owners, employees and entrepreneurs whose passion and hard work contribute so much to the success and vitality of our community. I look forward to celebrating your achievements later this month, and continuing to support endeavours to build a strong, resilient and vibrant local economy across Willoughby.
Yours in Community,
Mayor Tanya Taylor
